Throughout the 1830s, David Haviland was a partner in D.G. & D. Haviland Trading Co, a store in NY, NY that imported French & English tableware. In 1841, David and his family set sail for Limoges, France in search of a place to start his own china factory. By 1865, Haviland & Co was well on its way to becoming a legend in the industry. The Kenmore pattern, circa 1958, is a fine example of the later made Haviland porcelain that was produced in the US after 1942. This design has a colorful bouquet of flowers in the center accented by a thick gold band and outer gold trim on an ivory background.
